The State Department of Public Health is formally opening up vaccine eligibility to residents 65+ beginning this Thursday, 2/11, though vaccine providers are permitted to fill empty appointments at clinics with residents 65+ at any time. The best way for residents to access appointments remains VAMS, using the Vaccine Appointment Assist Line (VAAL - 877-918-2224), or through direct scheduling with large healthcare and pharmacy providers. Detailed information about all these options for residents can be found here: https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/COVID-19-Vaccination-Scheduling-Options
Chatham Health District is continuing to work with our Senior Centers to offer clinics that bypass both VAMS and VAAL for residents who have thus far struggled to utilize those systems. Appointments at those clinics are limited, however, and residents who are unable to book appointments at one of our clinics through our Senior Center partners should continue to attempt to utilize all the options available on the State website.
