A Look Back in Time

From its beginnings, long before its incorporation in the early 1800’s, Marlborough was offering welcome and comfort to those who discovered it.  From the moment of our town’s incorporation in 1803, the quiet beauty of the Lake has provided the perfect setting for the string of caring and neighborly communities that have gathered here.  Members of an Ecclesiastical Society in the early 1800’s, manufacturers and mill workers, hard working farmers, and more recently, suburban families have all called Marlborough home.

Marlborough – A Bright and Promising Future

A spirit of discovery is the hallmark of our past, and it also defines our future.  We invite this discovery and opportunity for growth, knowing that Marlborough’s hometown appeal and welcoming spirit will never waiver.  Marlborough town leaders have initiated a plan for controlled growth and expansion that offers promising opportunities for our town.  The development of a business park and expanded town center will generate revenue and balance the economic base in this largely residential community.  By carrying out our own plan for growth, we can be sure that Marlborough moves towards a promising future while maintaining all the best attributes of our past and our present.  We look forward to embracing growth and expansion while remaining true to the character and spirit of our town.
